What is UV-C light and why is it useful in a purifier? UV light is a component of the radiomagnetic spectrum between visible light and X-rays, respectively in the 100-400nm spectrum. The UV spectrum is divided into V-UV light (100-200nm), UV-C light (200-280nm), UV-B light (280-315 nm) and UV-A light (315 - 400nm). UV-A and UV-B light is "natural" reaching the earth being emitted by the sun. UV-C light emitted by the sun is completely filtered by the Earth's atmosphere, but it can be generated artificially. Numerous studies indicate that biological organisms exposed to UV light in the 200-300nm spectrum (UV-C) leads to the rupture of cell walls and the death of the organism (cell). Thus, UV-C light is a light with germicidal properties, destroying viruses and bacteria exposed for a certain period of time. That is why it is widely used for sterilization in medical institutions. As part of a purifier, UV-C light has the role of sterilizing the filtered air and the filters inside the device. Is UV-C light safe for use inside a purifier?
